Welcome to Orion Academy

I would like to offer you a very warm welcome to our website. Orion Academy was established in February 2020 and I feel very privileged to be leading our school together with our excellent staff team, and in partnership with our fantastic students and their families.

Orion Academy moved into a new school in September 2021: this is a state of the art building, which has enabled us to develop our school community and offer greater opportunities. We enjoy purpose-built therapeutic spaces and vocational spaces, alongside our music studio, gym, and sports hall.

We believe that positive, healthy and consistent relationships are fundamental to ensuring that all students can thrive within our community, and focus upon the values of  ‘Belong – Empower – Transform’ at Orion Academy.

All students who attend our school have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) and can present with a range of needs: most significantly we work with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other associated difficulties. We believe that each student should be treated as an individual.

To empower the work we do as a school, we understand how vital is it to work in partnership with parents / carers. We strive to work tirelessly with parents / carers, to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
