Dear Parents and Carers
Whilst we support the principles of the government message regarding schools providing essential care for children of key workers and the most vulnerable children in society, we are waiting for further clarity on what this means for special schools. Due to how our staff are affected by the measures, it will not be possible for us to open for all pupils. Until further guidance is given we cannot provide further comment on how we will approach this unprecedented situation. We expect to be able to provide an update on Friday afternoon.
A very warm welcome to Orion Academy website, which we hope offers you an insight to life at Orion Academy. At Orion Academy, we offer a supportive environment which provides a curriculum that enables our students to become inspired learners, with the confidence and ability to engage with the world of work and relationships.
Orion Academy is a Special Academy for students aged 11 – 18 years, with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs. The academy is situated in Blackbird Leys, Oxford, and accepts students from across Oxfordshire. We are a small, specialised academy, where students are respected, supported and encouraged.
Our students have a range of additional needs, including Autistic Spectrum Condition, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Speech and Language Difficulties, and Specific and Moderate Cognition and Learning Needs.
